Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

Socialists in Auckland are organising a candlelit vigil to remember the dead of the wars in Palestine, Afghanistan and Iraq, in the final hours of the Presidency of George W. Bush. Organiser and Socialist Aotearoa blog editor, Joe Carolan, said-

"People will be gathering outside the US Consulate this Tuesday night at 8pm to mark the end of George Bush's Reign of Terror, a Presidency that leaves America nearly bankrupt, hated for its wars across the world, with the blood of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, Afghans and Palestinians on its hands."

"His neoliberal economic policies leave capitalism on the edge of collapse, as the worst economic crisis to face the globe since the Great Depression sees millions of people lose their jobs. His foreign policies and wars leave America regarded as an Evil Empire, an imperialist bully that rules through military might"

"We have little faith in Obama- he has pledged to stand by a blood soaked Israel and his war will be Afghanistan. He will continue to throw good money after bad at a financial crisis that cannot be solved unless the economic system is transformed fundamentally. That is why may people are going further tot he Left and socialist ideas are on the rise again."

"But his election does show there is a huge mood for change in America- against the racism, war and greed that typified the Bush era"

"So we will be joined by ordinary Americans, who will stand in solidarity with speakers from Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan, in celebrating the end of this Presidency, surely the worst in American history so far."

The candlelit vigil will also have poems, songs and music to remember the dead of the wars Bush launched.

"That is why may people are going further tot he Left and socialist ideas are on the rise again."

Huh? Last time I looked, most of the world was going obama crazy.. Nice that you have endless optimism though.

And surely Nixon was worse..?

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

I will be there.

There is a Party at Forde's the next day to celebrate the End of Bush. I will drink to that.

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

Just remember that Obama won't be any different. He has said that he wants a "civilian national security force", and his Chief Of Staff has mentioned having a forced draft for 18-24 year olds.

Obama also wants to invade Afghanistan and find Osama Bin Laden (the scary man who appears only on the televisions of Western nations). Benazir Bhutto is on record saying that Bin Laden is dead, and claims that he is a creation of the Western media.

The only reason to invade Afghanistan is to build an oil pipeline (Cheney's friends at Unocal will do it). Also don't forget that America trained and funded Al-Qaeda in 1979. It's a fact of history, and it's called "Operation Cyclone". Look it up it's true!

Obama also won't investigate 9/11. Millions of people know that 9/11 was a staged terrorist attack, and there are hundreds of Architects and Engineers who agree (see here: http://ae911truth.org/).

It looks like American imperialism will continue with or without Bush. Obama was picked to be president by the Bilderberg group and other secret roundtables that control America. Obama is only president because the corporate controlled media picked him to win.

Don't throw a party on the 21st, because Obama will never live up to all his crazy promises. Keep up to date with real news:

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

'Just remember that Obama won't be any different.'

Come on now, he will be the first president since Carter to have an IQ higher than Americas 5 year old children, thats quite a big difference.

'Obama also wants to invade Afghanistan and find Osama Bin Laden'

The US is already in Afghanistan.

'Obama also won't investigate 9/11. Millions of people know that 9/11 was a staged terrorist attack'

The US Govt has been creating havoc and desolation of Arab countries for 50 years. The US Govt is seen as an abomination by many Arabs in those countries. The US Govt has been held responsible by Arab leaders and Arab people for the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of people from the middle east. With every war that Israel has had with its neighbours, the US Govt has been see as equally responsible for those attrocities by most Arab peoples.

Why is it inconceivable for some to admit that there are people out there from those countries that would want to (and did) bring some of that pain back on the US? This kinda reminds me of the JFK saga where US citizens could not and still cannot conceive that little Fidel from little Cuba could have orchestrated a hit on the US president...considering the CIA had already made several assassination attempts on Fidels life prior to JFKs assassination, and remember the Bay of Pigs invasion?

'Obama is only president because the corporate controlled media picked him to win.'

Like Rupert Murdochs FoxNews? I doubt they picked Obama to win and FoxNews is Murdochs flagship media outlet (along with the fact that he owns the US media). FoxNews still hasn't gotten over that defeat and are still sore about it now.

Do you honestly think that if all the US media turned on Obama that McCain would have gotten in? Bumbling McCain and his bumbling sidekick just reminded people too much of a cross between Reagan who lost his marbles because of his age, and bumbling Bush.

'Don't throw a party on the 21st, because Obama will never live up to all his crazy promises.'

I will be partying in celebration, not because of Obama but because of byebye to Dumbo Bush the Butcher of Baghdad.

Re: Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candle

"I will be partying in celebration, not because of Obama but because of byebye to Dumbo Bush the Butcher of Baghdad."

Err ok great. I won't be, even though I'm against Bush. Why? It's because the elite of the planet who controlled Bush now control Obama. Obama supports gun confiscation, war, and destroying the constitution. The top democrats and top republicans are all controlled by the Bilderberg Group and the Council On Foreign Relations.

You can watch "Endgame" on Google Video if you don't believe me.

Tin-foil hats at the ready

The interweb is all a part of population control, control of the single tribal world . Switch off the all seeing eye computer and go live under a fern leaf.

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

Last night was awesome. Thanks Joe and good on every one that was there.

Sure Obama may be 'different' in one way or another, but the overall system that really controls the president and the US hasn't changed. I feel that's pretty obvious.

Anyhoo, I'll happily be having a pint at Forde's tonight as I'm glad the Bush era is over - but I am well aware that the struggle continues.

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

Governments and leaders are the problems not the solutions. To celebate anything to do with the election of any leader is to celebrate control of others and this I will not do. What difference does colour make?

The struggle to educate the working class of the difference between them and us goes on. Voting is the one of the main causes of Poverty.

No leaders

No control

No governments

No Voting

That is my aim. What are yours?

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

I think what we need here in Aotearoa New Zealand is a dictatorship. Dictatorships kinda work better when the country is small like this one.

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

"by frank cobain

I'd much rather be part of a group set up by someone relativly new to the country, of who no one knows anything about their background.
Who can then gate-keep over certain issues such as 9/11.
Gullible isn't a word in the dictionary is it.

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

Obama just signed an order to close Guantanamo Bay. Yeah hes the same as Bush alright....

Re: Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candle

What about the hundreds of other secret torture camps? What about the FEMA camps? Will he close those too? Of course not!

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

Obviously Obama won't be the same as Bush. Why would US Capitalism want both the Democrats and the Republicans to be identical? Its much better to have Democrats liek Obama's who are a bit better (or at least seen to be better). Who closes Guantanamo Bay, possibly even withdraws some troops from Iraq - though probably just to redeploy them in Afghanistan or somewhere else in the Middle East.

But the fact is that he is there to administer the US state for capitalism. He will continue with US foreign policy - maybe using more soft language and framing it in stuff like UN resolutions. However the bombs will keep falling, the many will be exploited and the few will make profit.

I understand people being happy to see the end of the Bush presidency. But I suspect in 4-8 years time not so many will still want to celebrate Obama.

I suspect that the differences between Obama and Bill Clinton will be fewer than many are hoping.

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

(Day 2) Obama just signed an executive order to the military to pull troops out of Iraq in a given time frame.

Re: Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candle

"Obama just signed an executive order to the military to pull troops out of Iraq in a given time frame."

Yeah but he's putting them into Afghanistan. So what's so good about it?

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

A feature of the oppositional personality disorder is finding a problem for every solution.

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

How gullible can you guys get, remember 1984 when all the lefties were seduced by Lange and his nuclear free circus, so the left ended up voting in Rogernomics.

Obama is the change agent, of course it's time for shutting down 'Gitmo', it's now served it's purpose for the Zionist Neo Cons.
Tortured water boarded detainees have now confessed to carrying out 9/11 and will be quietly sentenced/ executed.

Bush et al have their puppets in place in Iraq, so of course it's time to bring the boys home.
All this couldn't have happened under Bush because it would give the impression of capitulating to public pressure (so much for the patriot act).

Remember Zionist Obama is the change agent, watch the troops being redeployed for Iran.
Watch out for the introduction of the AMERCO, to replace the dollar at a rate of 10 old dollars for 1 AMERCO.

"Barack Obama is a deeply troubled personality, the megalomaniac front man for a postmodern coup by the intelligence agencies, using fake polls, mobs of swarming adolescents, super-rich contributors, and orchestrated media hysteria to short-circuit normal politics and seize power. Obama comes from the orbit of the Ford Foundation, and has never won public office in a contested election. His guru and controller is Zbigniew Brzezinski, the deranged revanchist and Russia-hater who dominated the catastrophic Carter presidency 30 years ago. All indications are that Brzezinski recruited Obama at Columbia University a quarter century ago. Trilateral Commission co-founder Brzezinski wants a global showdown with Russia and China far more dangerous for the United States than the Bush-Cheney Iraq adventure. Obama's economics are pure Skull & Bones/Chicago school austerity and sacrifice for American working families, all designed to bail out the bankrupt Wall Street elitist financiers who own Obama. Obama's lemming legions and Kool-Aid cult candidacy hearken back to Italy in 1919-1922, and raise the question of postmodern fascism in the United States today. Obama is a recipe for a world tragedy. No American voter can afford to ignore the lessons contained in this book."

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

[stretches] now lets see, what has Osatan been up to today, his day 3 I believe.

...approves a stem cell trial
...reverses abortion-funding policy

Not a big day for Ocentralised Power but nevertheless lots of unhappy people in Guantanamo, people with severe spinal cord injuries and wymen all over the world will be a little happier as of today due to these recent changes.

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

When the 'Good Cop Bad Cop', routine gets played out, there will always be some people better off when the crumbs fall from the table.

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

So if Obama does say 5 good things (and I'm glad for those) does that mean he's incapable of evil? I'm going to remain a skeptic & not get complacent anyway.

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

The more things change the more they remain the same.
Obama orders his first military strike.

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

Obamas armies are killing villagers in Afghanistan under the guise of killing Taliban

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

Bombing Pakistan, upping the military actions in Afghanistan, with drawing troops from Iraq now that their military has been disabled, things are nicely in place for a pincer movement into Iran.

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

"Obamas armies are killing villagers in Afghanistan under the guise of killing Taliban"

So Obama has killed his first innocent peoples, not bad for 4 days. I think he may have even beat Bush's record, and did it with candy and cream on top.

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

Thanks for caring, my Useful Idiots.

Re: Remember the Victims of the Bush Regime: Auckland Candleligh

Would you people hold a vigil for the victims of FDR's administration? You know, the American President who was in office during World War II?

I'm sure the Axis Powers wouldn't mind having you folks around then.
